Privacy Policy for Resonance

Effective Date: 05/15/2026 Developer: Jon Tschida Contact:use.resonance.app@gmail.com App Package: com.jontschida.resonance Platform: Google Play

Overview

Resonance is a paced breathing and HRV practice app. This policy describes how data is handled when you use the app. The short version: Resonance does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. All data the app creates stays on your device.

Information We Collect

Resonance does not collect personal information.

The app does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information. There is no account system and no registration process.

Data Stored on Your Device

Resonance stores the following information locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences storage. This data never leaves your device.

Session history:

App settings:

Notification preferences:

This data exists solely to support the app's features, including streak tracking, the monthly calendar, resonance insights, and achievement badges. It is computed and displayed within the app and is not transmitted anywhere.

Data We Do Not Collect

Resonance does not collect, process, or transmit any of the following:

Third-Party Services

Resonance does not integrate with any third-party analytics platforms, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or data brokers. No data is shared with or sold to any third party.

The app does not contain advertisements.

Internet Access

Resonance does not require an internet connection for any core features. The only time the app accesses the internet is when you tap an external link to view one of the peer-reviewed research papers referenced during onboarding. Those links open in your device's browser, and that navigation is handled entirely by your browser, not by Resonance.

Children's Privacy

Resonance does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13, or under the applicable age threshold in your region. Because the app collects no personal information from any user, it does not pose unique risks to younger users. If you believe your child has submitted personal information through the app in any way, please contact us at the address below.

Data Retention and Deletion

All app data is stored in your device's local storage. You can delete all data at any time by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling Resonance removes all locally stored session history, settings, and preferences from your device permanently.

There is no server-side data to request deletion of, because no data has ever left your device.

Your Rights

Because Resonance does not collect or process personal data, most data protection rights (such as those under GDPR or CCPA) are not triggered by normal use of this app. However, if you have any questions or concerns about your data or this policy, you are welcome to contact us directly.

Security

All app data is stored using Android's standard SharedPreferences mechanism, which is private to the app by default and not accessible to other apps on your device. Resonance does not implement a network layer, so there is no data in transit to secure.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes in a future update, the updated policy will be made available on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Because Resonance collects no personal data, material changes to this policy are unlikely.
